SANESA Code of Conduct
SUB HEADING
ATHLETE’S CODE OF CONDUCT
2024
No competitor may be a coach/instructor at any SANESA show where they are competing
as a competitor.
1.
I will play by the rules and in the spirit
of the game.
2.
I will always act in the best interest
of my horse/pony by adhering
to this code of conduct
and the SANESA Rules and
Regulations, which have been written to this end.
3.
I will always handle
my horse/pony with respect and dignity.
4.
I will control my temper and never resort
to any form verbal or physical abuse towards
a fellow competitor, spectator,
parent, instructor or official as well as any animal on the show grounds.
5.
I will respect my fellow competitors, team members and opponents alike.
6. I will always
be an excellent ambassador for my school
and SANESA.
7.
I will do my best to be a true team member and act to the best interest of the team.
8.
I will remember that winning is not everything, but that having
fun, improving my skills, making new friends and doing my best are
just as important.
9.
I will acknowledge all good performances – those of my team members and those of my
opponents.
10. I will participate because I want to, not just because
my parents or my coach want me
to.
11.
I will remember that coaches, officials and judges are there to help me. I will therefore always treat them with respect and
courteousness.
12. I will accept their decisions
as final and act accordingly.
13. I will lead by example, and I will encourage my parents and
instructors to comply with the Code of Conduct applicable to them, understanding that if they fail to do so, I will suffer the consequences
of any possible disciplinary action that may follow.
14. I shall not sexually, physically, verbally,
emotionally or in any other way by my conduct, harass, threaten, intimidate, bully, fight with, tease or do an injustice to any child, instructor, parent,
groom, official, committee member or any other person at any SANESA
event, or in any way connected to SANESA. This undertaking shall include any
direct interaction or confrontation, the circulation of any electronic communications via
WhatsApp or any other messaging service, or any post on any social media site,
understanding that the breach of this code shall be viewed in the most serious
light, and shall be subject to disciplinary processes, and if necessary or
appropriate referred to the necessary authorities for further investigation.
15. I shall not take any unauthorised photo or
video footage directly
or specifically of any other child for any purposes whatsoever, and shall be required to provide the written release
of any such minor child’s
parents or guardians prior to being able to utilise any such
photographic/videographic imagery for any purposes whatsoever.

PARENTS AND INSTRUCTOR’S CODE OF CONDUCT 2024
No competitor may be a coach/instructor at any SANESA show where they are competing as a competitor.
If children are to grow and develop as balanced and well-adjusted persons, grow and develop in their sport or physical activities, an environment of positive communication and respect must exist. Parents and Instructor’s should observe the following with their child/ren athlete/s:
1. I will remember that my child/student plays sport for his or her enjoyment, not for mine.
2.1 I will always ensure that we act in the best interest of the horse/pony in our care by adhering to this code of conduct and the SANESA Rules and Regulations, which have been written to this end.
2.2 I agree that we will not compete with horses in any way if I am aware that they are not fit and healthy and that if I am ware of this, it must be disclosed.
3. I will always ensure that the horse in our care is handled with respect and dignity.
4. I will encourage my child/student to play by the rules and to resolve conflicts without resorting to hostility, foul language or violence.
5. I will teach my child/student that doing one’s best is just as important as winning, so that my child/student will never feel defeated by the outcome of an event.
6. I will make my child/student feel like a winner every time by offering praise for competing fairly and trying their best.
7. I will never ridicule or yell at my child/student for making a mistake or losing a competition.
8. I will remember that children learn best by example. I will applaud good players’ performances by both my child/student’s team and their opponents.
9. I will not force my child/student to participate in any event.
10. I will not tolerate, facilitate or commit verbal or physical abuse and will furthermore support all efforts to remove all such unacceptable behavior from school sporting events.
11. I will remember that coaches, officials and judges are there to help. I will therefore always treat them with respect and courteousness.
12. I will accept their decisions as final and act accordingly, and should I differ from their decisions, act appropriately and according to the Rules and Regulations and the Code of Conduct of SANESA.
13. I will respect and show appreciation for trained and volunteer coaches, officials and judges who give of their time to provide sport activities for my child/student, understanding that I have a responsibility to be a part of my child/student’s development.
14.
